Lovely little ornamental grass plant, with attractive, slim purpely-red leaves all year. Discreet flowering in summer with black cobs. Ideal for borders, the forefront of flowerbeds, and in containers. Easy to maintain, needing little water, even though it prefers a cool, well drained soil, mixed with some compost. Will enjoy a sunny exposure, sheltered from very cold periods, especially if in a pot.
