Pinnacle Clinical Research Statement on Founder and Chairman Dr. Stephen Harrison

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Founder, Chairman, and friend, Dr. Stephen Harrison. Dr. Harrison’s pioneering impact in the field of liver research and relentless pursuit of new treatments for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) / Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) leave a lasting impact on our industry and in our hearts.

As both an Army and civilian physician, Dr. Harrison’s career spanned three decades with an unwavering commitment to revolutionize Hepatology and liver disease research. At Pinnacle, we pledge ourselves to that same steadfast commitment as we build on Dr. Harrison’s legacy in MASH and other therapeutic areas.

We are forever blessed to have been inspired, mentored, and led by Dr. Harrison, and we will pay it forward. Rest in peace, Dr. Harrison.

Provider Quote: My goal and purpose as a Hepatologist is to ensure we have impactful treatments for patients suffering from liver disease to include Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis.

Provider Background: Dr. Harrison most recently served as a Colonel in the United States Army, retiring in 2016, he concluded 20 years of dedicated service to his country. During his Army tenure, he served as:

  • Director of Army Graduate Medical Education at Brooke Army Medical Center
  • Associate Dean for the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, Gastroenterology Consortium.
  • Gastroenterology Consultant to the Army Surgeon General.

With over 20 years in the industry, Dr. Harrison has formed a multitude of global and local relationships with like-minded physicians and experts to raise awareness of liver disease and find a treatment for the patients that need it most.
