Rhinichthys deaconi, a new species of dace (Pisces: Cyprinidae) from southern Nevada

The Las Vegas dace was known only from springs and their outflows along Las Vegas Creek, Nevada, and was last recorded in 1940; its extinction likely occurred c. 1955. Its extinction was the result of the complete destruction of its habitat during urban expansions.
