Mountain sandwort is another rock-garden standout, with slender grass-like leaves that spread slightly to form a small mat. This versatile little plant can be found growing on rock outcroppings, in grassland, and even beneath pines in open forest. The small delicate white flowers look best in clumps, so plant a few sandworts together and pair with some stouter, blockier plants for contrast. We suggest clarkia and woolly groundsel for a lovely combo of shapes, textures and color.
