Turpentine Wavewing

Erect stout stems. Leaves shiny yellow-green, egg-shaped, 1–7 in. long, finely divided, smallest section tiny, linear, with pointed tip. Inflorescences top leaves with open umbels of clustered flowers on unequal stalks. Flower clusters contain linear bractlets about equal in size to yellow flowers, occasionally white or purple. Grows in dry sandy or gravelly soil. Plant has strong odor of turpentine.
