RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, the park management sim that turned us all into greedy, and occasionally sadistic capitalists, is currently on sale for its lowest price ever on Steam. Normally $19.99, this title is discounted to just $4.99 through April 22 to celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary.

The definitive version of Chris Sawyer’s legendary park management simulator, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, includes 95 scenarios drawn from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon, its sequel, and their subsequent expansions in addition to optimizations for modern hardware.

Originally developed for Android and iOS devices, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic consolidates the scenarios and features from the original 1999 game and its sequel in addition to their four expansions. Also included in RCT Classic are scenarios featuring five in-game adaptations of real-world Six Flags theme parks. In total, you’ll find 95 increasingly challenging scenarios to play.

The vivid, sprite-based artwork is thankfully unchanged from the original games, but Classic has been optimized for modern displays, supporting higher resolutions and ultrawide screens. The modern adaptation also includes a more streamlined interface and additional quality-of-life improvements. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic also makes it easier than ever to design and import your own nausea-inducing roller coasters with a standalone ride designer and toolkit to create your own scenarios and share them with friends.

While park management sims like Planet Coaster and Parkitect offer a more expansive and modern experience, Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic is easier to recommend thanks to its unparalleled level of charm and accessibility for an otherwise imposing genre.
