Inspired by recent movies, TV shows and books concerning cancer, 16-year-old Temecula Prep student Becky O’Malley decided to help.
And to do so with her long, thick hair that often generates compliments.
Not just some of it. All of it.
On Wednesday at the Adora Bella Salon in Murrieta, the teen went from long locks to shaved head, donating her hair. Her family estimates Becky’s tresses will be converted into two or three wigs for those who have lost theirs to cancer treatments.
“I don’t need my hair — it’ll grow back easily!” she wrote on her blog, shavingstereotypes.blogspot.com. “The ones who really need it are the young boys and girls who are suffering with cancer or any other disease that causes hair loss.”
