In fact, the 56-year-old seems to be doubling down on her recent comments about preferring to go makeup-free, by posting a fresh-faced selfie showing off her freckles.

In the Instagram post, Anderson has tousled hair, a bubbly smile, and radiant skin. She holds a flower petal in one perfectly manicured hand, covering part of her face. “It’s never too late… to bloom 🤍,” she captioned the post.

Anderson previously opened up about the switch from her signature dark, sultry makeup to a more natural-looking approach. When her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, passed away from breast cancer, Anderson felt it was time to go makeup-free. “She was the best,” Anderson told Elle when speaking about Vogel. “And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”

The star said going bare-faced is “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too,” which explains her uptick in makeup-free selfies. In another Instagram post, the star showed a series of photographs with bare skin and her freckles on full display.

“I’d rather show my freckles…It’s fun getting old. It’s a relief. And at a certain age we just look younger and fresher without makeup,” she wrote. “This is me—I’m happy with who I am right now. It’s a new world and I’m very grateful for all of the love.”
