• Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais recently got candid about aging.
  • The 56-year-old actress explained that she is “thriving” in her 50s by staying “healthy.”
  • “I feel like I’m in my 20s again.”

Garcelle Beauvais, 56, is a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star that tells it like it is. So it comes as no surprise that the star recently opened up about all things aging, looking, and feeling her best in her 50s.

Beauvais recalled being told “you’ll never work again,” once she entered her 40s, in an interview with People. “But I do feel like I’m thriving in my 50s, not only because I am staying ahead of my health as much as I can,” she said, “but also I’m more self-conscious and I’m more active.”

The star says she is prioritizing self-care and her overall health, which has made a big difference. “I really am putting myself first in terms of taking care of me because I can’t fill somebody else’s cup if my cup is not full, right? That’s really important,” she explained.

“In my 50s I’m doing things that I never thought I would be doing and I’m happier,” Beauvais continued. “So it’s really important that I stay healthy because otherwise, I won’t be able to do any of these things.”

For Beauvais, staying healthy involves more than just maintaining a nutritious diet or crafting a self-care routine. The actress explained that she’s taking charge of her health by being more “proactive” when it comes to things like regular visits with her doctors and asking questions about her health.

“I feel the most healthy when I’m able to do all the things that I wanna do and there’s no aches,” Beauvais continued. “I wake up in the morning and I’m feeling good. I either go for a walk or take the boys to school and then meet up with a friend and do something.”

“It’s when I feel like I’m in my 20s again,” she said. “When I feel energetic and feel like the world is my oyster.”

Beauvais said in the interview that she enlisted the support of her best friends, holding each other accountable when it comes to staying on top of doctor appointments and routine care. “You really need your village, your front row, your friends,” she said.
