Adesmia es un género de plantas de la familia de las Fabáceas (leguminosas).
La flor y muchas veces el fruto, es lo más característico de este género.
Adesmia is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the sub family Faboideae and is the only genus found in the Tribe Adesmieae.

En Chile se encuentra representado por 140 especies de las cuales cerca de 90 son endémicas.

In Chile there are about 140 species of adesmia, of which, about 90 are endemic.
