CBBC star Rhys Stephenson and his professional dance partner Nancy Xu will have to rely on viewers at home if they hope to make it to next week's final, after finishing bottom of the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard in the semi-final.

Despite that placement, it was an impressive week for Rhys, with the contestant managing personal bests for Ballroom and Latin with his Tango and Samba respectively.

And Rhys was also moved to tears on Strictly on Saturday night after Claudia Winkleman revealed his dad had recorded a special video message to show his support, having been unable to attend the show in person.

But, has he done enough to keep himself out of the dance-off and make it to the final?

Rhys Stephenson is an actor and children's TV presenter. He's a well-known face at CBBC, presenting some of the biggest shows, including Blue Peter and Saturday Mash-Up!.

He also appeared on The Dengineers and Newsround. Outside of presenting, Rhys is an ambassador for Place2Be, a charity that provides mental health services in schools.

Strictly has been a lifelong dream for Rhys, so being a contestant is a big win for him in itself! He got off to a strong start with a score of 27 that put him fourth on the leaderboard. Despite a couple of appearances in the Dance Off, he's continued to build momentum with highlights including a truly impressive 37 in Week Three - and a perfect 40 in Week Eight.

Speaking about his signing at the time, he gushed: "I am buzzing to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing 2021. I have dreamt about being on this show, and I know for a fact that it is going to exceed every expectation. I cannot wait to experience it all: the costumes, the orchestra, even Craig’s glare! I am ready!”
