This is one of a handful of red-flowering Acacia known in the world. Locally abundant in dry savanna, woodlands and forests at low elevations in Madagascar, it grows into a scrambling shrub or small to medium-sized tree with finely pinnate foliage and bright red bottlebrush flowers. We believe ours was its first general introduction into horticulture in 2013 and quite an amazing one. Seeds may benefit from scarification before sowing.
