A stunning dwarf succulent native to desert areas in South Africa's Northern Cape Province that forms a cluster of pairs of very light grayish green leaves fused into globose, pebble-like structures and small orange yellow flowers. In cultivation it does best in drier, warm temperate climates. Conophytum is adapted to sparse winter rains and is dormant in summer.
