Description
Large, lightly fragrant bright sapphire-blue flowers over glaucous grey-blue foliage – a very attractive plant. The form shown is a good blue and this is the one that we grow, but please be aware that the colour of this species varies to mid blue, pale blue, violet and even a rare cream form – but all are lovely.
Cool, peaty or humus-rich soil for the best results as this appreciates damp conditions. It will fare best in cold gardens. Half shade is appreciated and when conditions are right the small tubers have almost evergreen growths.
