Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Cribrinopsis similis are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Cribrinopsis similis, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Cribrinopsis similis, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Cribrinopsis similis is an anemone that copes well with a wide temperature range from sub-zero temperatures to pleasantly warm water temperatures.
The anemone has about 80-90 conical or cylindrical tentacles, which are wrinkled in the transverse direction and have pointed ends, with which it captures zooplankton, zoobenthos and, in very large depth, sea snow.

Remains of mud on the lower part of the column and an undamaged intact base in all specimens indicate that the specimens live unsecured on soft ground,
where the lower part of the column is immersed in the sludge.

Aquaristic keeping experiences are not known.
