Dieser Fahnenbarsch lebt im Meer in einem Tiefenbereich von 120 bis 610 Meter, so dass der Fisch nur ein extrem seltener Pflegling in unseren Aquarien sein wird.

Sollte das Tier tatsächlich über den Handel erhältlich sein, so sollte aufgrund der Endgröße des Tiers unbegingt ein sehr großes Becken vorhanden sein.
