The body is white, legs are orange and red striped . Paguristes sp.02 are moderately common under rocks or in caves on the seaward reef.
Distribution. Eastern Indian Ocean: Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Christmas Island; western Pacific: Guam and Ryukyu Islands in southwestern Japan; 2–37 m.
This species is a submarine cave hermit crab.
Habitat. Coral reefs; submarine caves and small crevices or horizontal holes on fore-reef slopes.
Similar to Pylopaguropsis fimbriata with similarly red stripes on the ambulatory legs.
