Aaptos tenta Kelly-Borges & Bergquist, 1994

Solitary or basally confluent groups of irregularly globular ponges. Surface, smooth with rounded bumps or tubercules when submerged, spiky when exposed. Texture firm but slightly elastic.

External colour dull pinkish brown to hazel, internally mustard.

Large buds are produced asexually .
