Hiatavolva depressa is a species of sea snail in the family Ovulidae, the ovulids, cowry allies or false cowries.
Ovulids are carnivorous. Prey on sea fans, sea whips and soft corals, biting off the polyps and chewing up their tissues. Each Ovulid specialises in a particular prey and they usually mimic their prey perfectly.
