Ogilbyina queenslandiae has an variably coloured body with pink, yellow, blue, green and brown, the fins show a blue margin, the upper forebody with alternating light and dark bars.

Ogilbyina queenslandiae is very shy.

Similar species:
Ogilbyina novaehollandiae (Multicolour Dottyback) has blue lines below eye.
