Info

The gorgonian Adelogorgia telones is only known from the type locality Kicker Rock in the Galápagos Islands, no specimens of this species have been found since its initial description (Breedy et al. 2009).
The new species was described based on three specimens (two white and one lemon yellow) animal, the specimens were 7.5cm - 10 cm long and 9 -11 cm wide are.
The only difference despite the color is that the anthocodial sclerites are larger (up to 0.31 mm long) in the lemon yellow than in the two white specimens.

Adelogorgia telones is distinguished from the other Adelogorgia species by its thick branches and especially by the colors of the colonies and sclerites, as none of the other four species have white or lemon yellow colonies.

Other species:
Adelogorgia adusta
Adelogorgia hannibalis
Adelogorgia osculabunda
Adelogorgia phyllosclera
