Info

Narella muzikae is known only from Hawaii'i and the adjacent seamounts.

The largest coral, the holotype, had a height of 23 cm and a width of 18 cm.

Similar species: Narella muzikae is most similar to Narella regularis,

Remarks:
Commensal polychaetes and ophiuroids were not found on this species.

Etymology:
This species is named in honor of in honor of Katherine (Katy) M. Muzik, as a tribute to her research on Hawaiiian octocorals (Muzik 1978, 1979), and also as a collector of the holotype.
