Ammotretis rostratus Günther, 1862
Ammotretis is a genus of righteye flounders native to the coastal waters off southern Australia. The Longsnout Flounder Ammotretis rostratus has both eyes on the right side of the head. This flounder feeds on small invertrebrates, on sand worms and prawns.
Very similar to Ammotretis lituratus (smaller length 23cm, with orange reddish spots.
