Info

Chrysogorgia admete is an azooxanthellate deepwater gorgonian, of which only two localities around New Caledonia and American Samoa are known so far.
The findings around New Caledonia were made with the help of trawls, the coral was torn off from its substrate and brought to light.
The holotype of the tree-shaped coral can be seen today in the Musée national d'histoire naturelle, Paris, France.

The find around American Samoa in the southern Pacific was made in 2017 as part of the Okeanos Explorer's American Samoa Expedition to unknown and little-known deep-sea areas in American Samoa and Samoa, focusing on the Rose Atoll Marine National Monument, the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa, and the National Park of American Samoa.#

Little is known about the coral itself besides the attached initial description.
