Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Sclerophytum peculiare are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Sclerophytum peculiare, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Sclerophytum peculiare, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Sinularia peculiaris is found in shallow water zones that are easily accessible to divers, often on rocky bottoms.

In the photo of Dr. Leen van Ofwegen (†), one of the specialists of soft corals, Sinularia peculiaris seems to be "gr0n", but in the description of xxx the color is described as "light gray". In the paper "Studies on the Alcyonacean Fauna of Gulf of Mannar" the coloration is described as "light gray or light gray".

Sinularia peculiaris has not been seen in the trade so far, therefore we do not have any own keeping experience.

Synonym: Sinularia peculiaris Tixier-Durivault, 1970
