Polycarpa mytiligera is a solitary and invasive sea squirt (bio-fouling) that has a very special regenerative capacity.

The dissection of a single individual into separate fragments along two body axes resulted in the complete regeneration of each fragment into an independent, functional individual!

A permanent keeping of sea squirts is difficult, because the sea squirt must be continuously supplied with plankton, among others in the micron, and submicron range.
