Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!

Husbandry know-how of owners

Zuerst einmal ist zu sagen, dass man diesen Fisch Mittelmeer Junker nennt...

Der Mittelmeer Junker lässt sich sehr gut in einem Meerwasseraquarium vergesellschaften.

Nur sollte man die Tiere stehts in einer Gruppe halten, da sie alleine, fast nur verstecken und man sie kaum zu Gesicht bekommt.

Ähnlich, wie bei Malawi Seebarschen, sollte man darauf achten, viele junge Junker zu haben und einen älteren, der dann das dominierende Männchen wird. Da die Junker später alle Männchen werden, muss darauf geachtet werden, dass sie sich aus dem Weg gehen können, denn meist dominiert/herscht ein starkes Mänchen vom Rudel, das jüngere/schwächere Männchen lebt zurückgezogen.

Sie lassen sich wunderbar an Trockenfutter gewöhnen und kommen auch über einen kürzeren Zeitraum wunderbar mit tropischen Temperaturen zurecht.

Ich habe eine kleine Zuchtgruppe gehalten. Mit der Zeit sind alle Junker verendet, da sie immer wieder aus dem Becken gesprungen sind.
Bei einer glücklichen Beschaffung ist daher unbedingt zu raten, das Becken abzudecken, bzw. die Aquariumwände über den Wasserstand hinaus, zu verlängern, damit die Junker nicht aus dem Becken hüpfen können.
