Lunella coronata, commonly known as crowned turban shell or coronate moon turban grows to a length of 5,5 cm. The shell with cup-like scales and regular rows of nodules. The colour of the shell is pale to greenish with purplish-brown markings. The operculum is smooth to faintly granular with pale green centre.The shell is subject to a wide variation.This species can be found in rocky pools and under stones.
The crowned turban shell feeds on alagae.
