Colubraria tenera (Gray, 1839)
Colubraria is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Colubrariidae. Members of this genus lack a radula and feed by sucking blood from fish.
Like most other species Colubraria tenera parasitizes sleeping fish, usually parrotfish, at night. Also, one specimen was found sucking the blood of a mostly buried stonefish (Synanceia verrucosa) in a seaward reef ledge during the day.
