Info

The imperial blackfish can get up to one meter in size, typical are however lengths of around 60 cm. It is benthopelagic and lives in depths of around 80 to 240 meters along continental shelves and islands.

Juveniles are epipelagic and live with jellyfish, among others with Physalia physalis, close to the surface.
