Lunella torquata (Gmelin, 1791)
Lunella torquata is a shell snail from the Turbinidae family, the so-called turban snails. Turban snails have spherical or circular, usually thick-walled shells.
The inside is covered with mother-of-pearl, the operculum is horny.
They are usually found in warm waters near coral reefs.
It is a very industrious algae eater, but is mostly nocturnal, during the day it usually seeks a rather shaded corner and moves very little.
