Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Plectorhinchus vittatus are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. Not easy to acclimatise. Even when they accept food they often tend to starve. A swarm-fish which grows up to 20" to large for a mixed reef tank. Needs good hiding places and very much room to swim. Can often bee seen on expositions in large scale plants. Lives in depth of 6 - 85 feet.

Husbandry know-how of owners

Insbesondere in der Jugendform ein superschöner Aquarienbewohner! Wird nur leider sehr groß und ist daher kaum was für ein normales Heimaquarium. Wie oben beschrieben ist er in der Eingewöhnung sehr wählerisch im Futter und magert gerne dahin bis zum Tod. Insgesamt leider hohe Ausfallraten in der Jugend und dann leider viel zu schnell viel zu groß!
