Lithophaga, the date mussels, are a genus of medium-sized marine bivalve molluscs in the family Mytilidae.

They can be found in northeast Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea

Die Seedattel kam in einem Hohlraum von lebenden Steinen aus Indonesien in mein Aquarium. Die Muschel wurde nur aufgrund der Zerteilung eines Steines gefunden. Die Seedattel legte ich lose auf einem Stein ab.Nun bewegt sich die Seedattel jeden Tag ein Stück mehr in die Dunkelheit der Steinaufbauten und wird in wenigen Tagen aus dem sichtbaren Bereich verschwunden sein.Ob sie sich schon wieder in einen Stein bohrt , kann ich leider nicht erkennen.Die Haltung war bis jetzt problemlos.
