Info

(Chamisso & Eysenhardt, 1821)

Spotted worm sea cucumbers are found mainly in seagrass beds and under rocks on reef tops.

These "vacuum cleaners" of the seas feed on organic material (detritus) that they pick up with the help of their 15 tentacles. Sea cucumbers and sea rollers are indispensable helpers in the sea, keeping the bottom clean.

The color of the Spotted Worm Sea Cucumber varies greatly, in each case the animal is speckled and has a whitish, brown, brown-yellow or bronze base tone. Five brownish or yellowish longitudinal bands and various brownish transverse bands are particularly conspicuous.

Body: The structure of the body is soft and spongy, but can be expanded and contracted.
The bodies of sea cucumbers and sea cucumbers often contain visceral fish.
