Ich habe diese Koralle aus einer Beckenauflösung bekommen, sie war vom Skelett her weiss mit giftgrünen Polypen. Nach und nach dunkelte sie ein, nun hat sie einen rot/braunen Grundton und grüne Polypen, wieso diese Veränderung geschah, kann ich mir nicht erklären (andere Nährstoffe?). Die Seriatopora ist sehr schnell gewachsen und steht bei mir teilweise stark in der Strömung (scheint ihr nichts auszumachen). Sehr schöne Koralle.

Ich hatte das Glück einen sehr großen Ableger zu bekommen. Habe dann nach einigen Tagen im Becken festgestellt, dass ein kleiner Ast der Koralle genau in die Mitte des Stockes wächst, der also ohne Licht war. Habe ihn gleich mit einer Zange entfernt und an anderer Stelle im Riff eingesetzt. Der neue Ableger hat das sehr gut überstanden, und steht super da. Die Koralle braucht gute Strömung, so, dass die Tentakel schön hin und her bewegt werden. Viel Licht ist auch immer gut. Anstonsten leicht zu halten, die Werte müssen stimmen - wie immer.

Seriatopora sind SPS-Korallen die es mir mit einer klaren Einstufung des Schwierigkeitsgrades nicht einfach machen. Ich selber halte in meinem Riffbecken drei Seriatoporastöcke ( 2 x hystrix seit 4 Jahren und eine caliendrum seit einen Jahr) . Meine Erfahrungen mit diesen Korallen kann man als zwiespältig bezeichnen. Es gibt jedenfalls Aquarienfreunde, die in ihren Becken wesentlich weniger Nitrat und Phosphat haben als in meinen Aquarium aber keine Seriatopora halten können. Die cremefarbene caliendrum zeigt immerhin trotz zu hoher Nährstoffkonzentration Polypen in leuchtendem hellblau. Die Hystrix hat bei PO4 von zuletzt 0,5 mg/L (ppm)starkes Pink und das kann ich mir nun wirklich nicht erklären . Einen Ausfall muss ich dann doch noch zugeben : Die grüne caliendrum, vielfach am einfachsten zu halten, wächst bei mir nicht.Also nach wie vor alles etwas merkwürdig.
