Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Gasterosteus aculeatus are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Gasterosteus aculeatus, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Gasterosteus aculeatus, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Gasterosteus aculeatus Linnaeus, 1758

The three-spined stickleback is native to most inland and coastal waters north of 30°N. It has long been a subject of scientific study for many reasons.
