Australostichopus mollis (Hutton, 1872)

Australostichopus molli occurs in New Zealand, Western Australia and Tasmania.

New Zealand Sea Cucumber is detritivores and feeds organic particulate.

The body is soft. The body colour varies from light mottled brown to black.On the body are pointed papillae which can be reduced.

This sea cucumber can be found from shallows waters on the coast to 200 m of depth.

There is currently a quota for this fishery in New Zealand.
