Fender American Deluxe Active Jazz Bass Model Electric 5-String Bass Guitar (1998), made in Corona, CA, serial # N8334201, silver finish, original molded black plastic hard shell case.
This Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass V mixes the vibe of a traditional Fender bass with more modern elements. The 5-string setup has become de rigeur for many modern players, as have the active electronics. The noiseless pickups are controlled by a master volume, pickup blend knob, and active treble-bass boost/cut and separate mid boost/cut knobs. There is a range of tones available but generally the sound is very hot, bright and gets aggressive easily. The well-done silver finish is a nice touch. Not our usual cup'o tea but this big V does what it does well.
Overall length is 46 1/2 in. (118.1 cm.), 13 3/4 in. (34.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/8 in. (48 mm.).
This bass is very clean, all original playing as it should and showing only light handling wear. It resides in the original molded HSC with a strap-lokked strap, and a passel of original paperwork including (helpfully) an overlay indicating how the somewhat complex controls work. Excellent + Condition.
