Bodee Phenomenal, entertaining, fresh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review ian g Redline is one of the greatest pieces of Japanese animated Cinema. The initial thing that jumps out at most when viewing this movie is it's art style. It is similar to that of Miyazaki but I'd more harsh and dramatic. The main character is fun, interesting, and relatable. He makes a great pairing with the main female character who brings a lot of the emotion and drive that is missing in our laid back hero. The plot is fine but the movie is carried by its characters and environment. The best part is the race; Redline. The race takes up a substantial portion of the movie but never feels like it's been going on too long. It feels consistently fast paced without making you sick. The beautiful wacky visuals blended perfectly with the surprising heartwarming drama and well written dialogue. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This film might not have the strongest plot or the most coherent but it is so badass and the animation so fantastic that this does not matter for me. Fantastic watch, really puts a grin on your face. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't like racing anime or sports anime but I've rewatched this 5 times in the past 3 months. It's a work of art - the kind of product that lets you know the production team doesn't care about making money - they just want to leave a lasting legacy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Late R The ending may be rather predictable, but when it's thrilling you with that many adrenaline-filled racing sequences, as well as the fantastically stylish animation by powerhouse studio Madhouse, 'Redline' is still a wildly entertaining joyride of a film. The overall design - characters, vehicles, surroundings - is pretty darn creative, too. This isn't one to watch for the deep plot, this is what you watch when you want to be entertained, have some fun and come out on a high. It's like a Japanese version of 'Wacky Races' on immense quantities of Speed, and that definitely isn't a bad thing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/18 Full Review Audience Member This movie is obviously not suppose to be a well thought out story with in depth characters. Its meant to give you a fun sense of adrenaline throughout the experience and it does that amazingly. The world building, atmosphere, visuals, and especially the animation are just so golden that I can't praise it enough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
