Talks have resumed at the Labour Relations Commission in an attempt to resolve the row over Aer Lingus cabin crew rosters.

The airline has cancelled 20 flights involving ten round trips to the UK and Europe because of the dispute.

Passengers are being contacted in advance if their flight is disrupted. Intending passengers are also advised to check the Aer Lingus website for updates.

Both cabin crew union IMPACT and Aer Lingus management said they hoped the dispute could be resolved as they arrived at the talks this morning.

However, Aer Lingus Chief Human Resources Officer Michael Grealy confirmed that disciplinary procedures against some of the cabin crew, which could result in dismissal, are continuing.

IMPACT spokesperson Bernard Harbor said it was in no one's interest for the row to go on, as Aer Lingus was spending a lot of money hiring planes and crew to operate its schedules.

Discussions at the Labour Relations Commission adjourned without agreement last Friday night.

It is understood that LRC Director of Conciliation Kevin Foley was in contact with Aer Lingus management and IMPACT over the weekend to see if there was a basis for reconvening negotiations.

The two-week-old dispute has led to around 10% of Aer Lingus flights being cancelled, disrupting the travel plans of thousands of passengers.

Around 300 of the airline's cabin crew have been taken off the payroll in a row over new rosters.
