About The Artwork
Sarks is the series of large format oil paintings (most of them are around 2 meters height). They are presenting expressive nature of flash and body. On this works, I’m looking for similarities for all living beings. Trying to compare emotions connected to the spiritual human nature (soma) and the flash of material being (sarks). Series was created after deep research about meat motive in art history. It takes it’s beginning in baroque Vanitas motive, and Rembrandt’s Slaughtered Ox.
