    गुरुरेव गतिर्गुरुमेव भजे गुरुणैव सहास्मि नमो गुरवे ।

    न गुरोः परमं शिशुरस्मि गुरोः मतिरस्ति गुरौ मम पाहि गुरो।

    गुरुरेव गतिर्गुरुमेव भजे

    गुरुरेव = गुरुः+एव (गुरुः – उ – पुं – प्र एक; एव – only) गतिर्गुरुमेव - गतिः+गुरुम्+एव (गतिः इ –
    स्त्रि – प्र – एक (refugee) ;– गुरुम् – द्वि – एक (Guru) ; एव – only) भजे – भज् – लट् – उपु –
    एक , आत्मनेपदि (worship)

    गुरुणैव सहास्मि नमो गुरवे

    गुरुणैव = गुरुणा+एव – (गुरुणा - तृ, एक (with Guru) एव – only) सहास्मि = सह+अस्मि (सह –
    alongwith - अव्यय; अस्मि – अस् – लट् – उपु – एक (to be present)) नमो गुरवे = नमः +
    गुरुवे (नमः – अ – प्र, एव (salutations), गुरवे – चतुर्थी (Guru), एव)

    न गुरोः परमं शिशुरस्मि गुरोः

    न गुरोः = (न – Not, गुरोः – पञ्चमि / षष्ठि (Guru) – एव (only)) परमं – परम – in the
    highest degree शिशुरस्मि = शिशुः+अस्मि (शिशुः – उ – पुं – प्र – एक (child); अस्मि - अस् –
    लट् – उपु – एक (exists / to be present)) गुरोः गुरोः – पञ्चमि / षष्ठि (Guru)

    मतिरस्ति गुरौ मम पाहि गुरो।

    मतिरस्ति = मतिः+अस्ति (मतिः – इ-स्त्रि-प्र-एक; अस्ति – अस् – लट् – प्रपु – एक) गुरौ – (सप्त,
    एक); मम – (दकारान्त त्रिषु लिङ्गेषु समानम्, अस्मद् – षष्ठि);पाहि – पा , कर्तरि, लोट् – परस्मैपदि
    – मध्यम् – एक गुरो – (सम्बो – एक)

    The guru is my sole refuge. I worship my guru.

    I am always with my guru. Salutations to the guru.

    There is none higher than the guru. I am a child of my guru.

    My intellect is firmly fixed on the guru. Oh preceptor! Protect me

    The guru is my sole refuge. [Guru is the Nominative , therefore Prathama Vibhakthi, ]

    I worship my guru [ “I” is the Nominative, while Guru is Accusative]

    I am always with my guru. [“I” is Nominative, with Guru indicates , instrumental so Guru here is Tritiya
    Vibhakthi]

    Salutations to the guru [ Offering indicates Chaturthi, so Guru is Chathurthi]

    There is none higher than the guru. [Paramam – indicates 5th case]

    I am a child of my guru [the relationship between of the Sishya with Guru is like a child, and this
    relationship indicates the 6th case]

    My intellect is firmly fixed on the guru [Intellect fixed on Guru indicates 7th case ]
    Oh preceptor! Protect me - Here you are addressing Guru asking him to protect you , which indicates the
    usage of Sambodhana Vibhakti.]
