  1. Horizontal and Vertical Schedule Integration(Practice Exercise Introduction and Instructions) This exercise will help you understand the concepts of horizontal and vertical schedule integration. It will also give you practice in graphing an actual PMB. You will recall from the lesson that horizontal schedule integration means that tasks are related logically to one another, in work flow and time, from the start to the finish of the project. Vertical schedule integration means that all work packages (tasks) shown on the detailed schedule are scheduled for completion within their allocated time-frame. Thus, the detailed schedule is in alignment vertically with the system-level technical reviews, system tests, and system delivery date, as presented in supporting schedules and as depicted on the project master schedule. Scenario: About 6 months into the project, the government notified the company that the JRPG-P must be able to launch and track the Navy’s Mark 60 Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV). The Mark 60 UUV looks like a torpedo but is outfitted with sonar to detect underwater mines and obstacles that might be used to block shipping lanes and harbors. Your first task is to arrange the Mk 60 UUV tasks, both horizontally and vertically, according to the given constraints, so that this capability can be delivered to the government, with the JRPG-P. Your second task is to apply budgets to each Mk 60 UUV task. Select appropriate EV technique(s). Your third task is to draw the cumulative Budgeted Cost for Work Scheduled for the Mk 60 UUV integration effort.
