3. School
Ukrainian teenagers spend a lot
of time at school. They also
spend a lot of time doing their
homework. Children start going
to school when they are 6 years
old and finish school at the age of
17. Also high school students
have to pass exams. All teenagers
go to school in uniforms. School
starts on the 1st of September in
Ukraine. On the first school day
students congratulate teachers
on the beginning of the school
year.
4. Free time
What do Ukrainian teenagers do to
have a lot of fun? Of course, they
like watching TV, listening to music
and playing computer games, but a
great number of teenagers like
meeting friends very much. They
walk in parks, go to cinemas, cafés,
shopping centers. Among young
people such places as: Aroma Bar,
Mac Donald's, Ocean Plaza, Mafia
are very popular.
5. Hobby
In Ukraine, teenagers use a lot of their
time for hobbies. As tastes differ,
teenagers have different interests and
hobbies. For example, sports, collecting
some things like postcards, stamps and
labels, reading books, writing, and
cooking. Girls and boys are different.
For example, boys are interested in
sports like football, basketball,
volleyball and swimming. But girls
prefer dancing, singing and going out
with friends. Some girls like sports too
for instance, running, playing volleyball,
handball and swimming.
6. Technology
As well as the Internet, teenagers
in Ukraine use their computers to
play games and do their
homework. They also love their
mobile phones and spend hours
texting their friends and chatting.
Today, phones are getting smaller
and lighter and you can do a lot
more with them than just talk.
Text messaging and social
networks have taken over as the
coolest and trendist ways to
socialise.
7. Fashion
At school, almost all Ukraine
teenagers have to wear a school
uniform. However, in their free
time they can wear whatever
they like and what they like is
designer labels. Nike, Adidas,
Benetton, Tommy Helfiger, Zara
are the top favourites, but
looking good doesn’t come
cheap in Ukraine.
