Area Menus for SD Configuration

Tired of searching the SPRO configuration tree looking for that one transaction to complete
your SD customizing? Wouldn’t it be great to have just one transaction that contains all your
relevant configuration steps and nothing else?

SAP ERP ® offers a very flexible way to combine related transactions together in what is called
an “area menu”. Area Menus are maintained via transaction SE43, available via Tools ABAP
Workbench Development Other Tools. SAP itself comes loaded with some very useful area
menus and in this QuickTip we will present some of these to you.

Let’s start with an area menu that’s dedicated to SD Billing customizing: this is area menu
OLVF (Fig. 1):

Other useful SD configuration area menus include OWV0 for Pricing Customizing and OLVD
for Shipping Customizing.

You can very easily combine whichever transactions you need in your own area menu which
you can create with transaction SE43. This can be very useful you want to give your users a
convenient way to access their certain transactions without having to search around the long
application trees of the standard system.

Summary
SD customizing transactions are collected into easily accessible area menus which allow you
easy access to the most commonly used transactions. You can also very easily create your own
area menus, either for your personal use or to allow your system users to access their most
commonly used transaction codes in a simple manner.
