Bowls Scotland National Championships 2017

The concluding day of the 2017 Bowls Scotland National Championships including the semi-finals and finals in the Singles, Pairs and Triples competitions.  Play starts at 9.30am with admission on the gate.

Considered the biggest club event in world bowls and regularly attracting 10,000 spectators, the Bowls Scotland National Championships has gone from strength to strength following Scottish success at the 2014 Commonwealth Games lawn bowls tournament held at Kelvingrove.

Expect to see some Scottish internationals on the National Centre greens.  And keep an eye out for players from Gourock Park bowling club who had members qualify in four Gents disciplines in the lead up to this year’s Bowls Scotland National Championships.  This includes three sets of father and son – Hugh & Ryan Kearns, George & Douglas Twaddle and John Reid Snr & John Reid Jnr – who are competing in the Junior Singles, Pairs and Triples events.  Meanwhile in the Ladies competition 14-year-old Sophie McGrouther, one of the youngest players to qualify this year, is set to compete in the Junior Singles semi-finals.

Today’s finale includes last four matches across all competitions from 9.30am with the finals taking place at 2pm.  The draw in full can be viewed on the Bowls Scotland website.
