Subjective Data  “Nakapag- breastfeed na ako pero di ko pa alam kung pano yung tamang paraan. Unang anak ko pa lang kasi ito.” As verbalized by the patient. Objective Data  VS:  BP: 110/  PR: 89  RR: 23  Temp: 36.  G1T P0A0L0M  Doesn’t know how to breastfeed completely.

Post-NSD; ineffective breastfeeding, secondary to knowledge deficit.

 First time mothers may have some anxiety around breastfeeding that is contributing to their difficulties due to limited experience, knowledge and skill in providing infant care after giving birth.

At the end of the 4 and a half-hour shift, the client will be able to:  Breastfeed her baby the proper way

 Clean her breasts the right way.

 Hold her baby properly.

 Provided health teachings about breastfeeding  Proper positioning (Hold baby – tummy to tummy, baby’s nose and chin should be placed against the breast)  Breastfeed every 2- 3 hours, 8-10 times daily  How to get good attachment (Make sure baby sucks the areola, not just the nipple. Baby's top and bottom lip should be turned out. Baby's chin should be pressed into the breast)  Clean breasts only with water and cotton, don’t use soap or lotion.

 Support baby’s head, neck and back.

 For effective breastfeeding

 Soap will remove the natural oils that are present on your breasts and nipples and will contribute to drying and cracking.  To be able to breastfeed properly and for the safety of the baby.

After 4 and a half hours of nursing intervention:  The mother was able to gain knowledge about the proper way to hold her baby, breastfeed her baby and clean her breasts.
