Medium Tension for Showcasing Your Playing Nuance

La Bella's 2001 Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings were developed with input from top-tier guitarists and instructors to offer the increased clarity, sustain, and responsiveness modern players and concert instruments require, while maintaining extremely detailed nuance. The strings are constructed from nylon 202 and silver-plated winding. And the 2001 Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings take advantage of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) for like-new string freshness every time you open a package. Grab a set from Sweetwater. You'll be glad you did.

La Bella's string expertise reaches back centuries

While La Bella strings are the top choice for world-famous musicians such as Willie Nelson, Bryan Adams, and Ron Carter, their heritage reaches way back - almost four centuries back, starting in Salle, Italy, in the seventeenth century with the Mari family. They were famous throughout Europe and even supplied violin strings to Amati and Stradivari. Brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari moved their string operation to New York in the early twentieth century, and the modern-day foundation for La Bella strings was born.

La Bella 2001 Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings Features:
  • Classical guitar strings with greater projection and responsiveness
  • Developed for modern performers and concert instruments
  • Nylon 202 used for treble strings
  • Silver-plated bass strings
  • Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) keeps strings fresh longer
Get the most performance from your guitar with the 2001 Medium Tension strings.

Great strings

I always like Savarez strings for the volume and clarity but realized that I was always battling fret and finger noise. I decided to try these when my new GK Pro Negra needed new strings and I am glad I did. They sound great and I don't feel like I'm fighting fret noise. The basses and treble are balanced. They have good volume and speak well. After settling they stay in tune quite well. These are now my "go to" strings.
Music background: Regularly practicing and gigging classical/pop/jazz guitarist

Great for Flamenco

I've been playing the field quit a bit trying every nylon string brand and reading all the reviews for the past 2 years and now I think my quest is over. These are the most rounded, well made, stay in tune, nylon string I've played to date. I give these a 5.0 cuz even if I find something different that I like, these are head and shoulders above the standard guitar string brands that offer a nylon string option. You can tell LaBella has more insite on what a nylon string player is looking for as far as feel, tone, and stability.

Good

Although these are medium tension they feel very similar to Savarez high tension strings. They have better intonation than Savarez. The treble stings have the same volume as the bass strings unlike Savarez, which I found myself fighting with just enough to become an annoyance to sound as robust as the bass strings when finger picking. One downfall is that vibrato on the trebles is not quite as nuanced when rapidly sliding your fretting finger up and down a string, inside a fret. Overall, despite that one imperfection I'd recommend them as an upgrade to stock strings on Cordoba guitars.
