  • Description: Erect perennials, 2-5 dm; leaflets 5-8, broadly oblong-oblanceolate, 3-5 cm long, glabrous to glabrate above; inflorescence with numerous flowers; calyx 4-6 mm long; flowers blue-violet, 10-15 mm long, the banner orbicular; legumes 2-3 X 5-6 mm, hairy. Found in the southwestern counties in dry areas with sagebrush, oak, or pinyon-juniper, 5000-7500 ft. May-June.
