    Posted May 09, 2016 06:05 AM

Our business want's a report showing all applications and version installed on all our servers. I tried running a cube for installed software but it failing to show a lot of software. it seems show the basic such was windows office, jave, etc but things like Mentor Graphics, CAD systems etc it fails to add the details to the report. The issue I have is we have such a lot of software for various different engineering teams it would take me amonth to get the information manually.

Can anyone suggest the best way to create report for this?

    Hi Magic Hammer,

otherwise you have servers where "Inventory Agent" plug-in is installed and there were "Inventory Scan" tasks executed, but you still don't see information about mentioned above software?

    • Does this report show information about this installed software on client?

open SMP Console -> Reports -> Discovery and Inventory -> Inventory -> Cross-platform -> Software/Applications -> Software -> "Installed Software by Computer" report

    • Is there any information about this software in "Resource Manager" -> "Summaries" -> "Software Summary" of managed client?
    • Make sure when was last successfull inventory scan on these clients, where this software isn't shown as installed there
    • License isn't expired/exceeded for "Inventory Solution" ? You can open Console -> Home -> open "First Time Setup" page
    • Make sure that you don't have excluded for scan folders where this software is installed

For ITA Cube you can check this discussion and choose there required data to show in report:

    Thanks,

    IP.

I am using OWC on installed software Cube. I select Computer count, then computer name on rows and then Software installed in the columns.

We have inventory run every evening on our servers and they are not set to exclude and folders. After speaking to the business they don't need the report so granular and they don't need to know what server has what, just what we have installed as this will be used to cost out building a DR site.

I tried the install files link cube and it is too granular (pain i know) as this resulted in over 5000 rows.

I can see the software as listed in the cross platorm\software\installed software report but it is difficult to tell what is server and what is desktop\laptop

Ok I managed to get it done. In the end I did installed software cube report and done computer name on column and add remove programs on the rows and I just removed all non serverws from the columns using the drop down filed and selecting servers only and on the software i just ticked the software I needed to report on. i didn't notice the drop down arrows on the owc cubes reporting!
